FAQs

MUCHO Mobile is a new generation mobile operator based in Geneva (Switzerland). It offers its mobile services on the base of 4 main pillars: the best mobile coverage delivered by Swisscom, 100% freedom (no commitment), an outstanding price performance, and simplicity.

MUCHO mobile has been operating since 2010 on the Swisscom network, which offers outstanding coverage in Switzerland.

There are two main differences between a prepaid mobile pack and a mobile subscription (HANDY ABO, NATEL ABO):

1. Total freedom

When you choose a mobile pack, you can interrupt your renewal at any time either through your myMUCHO account or by not adding more credit when your renewal is due. This is highly useful, and it's especially handy when you're traveling abroad and want to avoid using your Swiss mobile.

2. Full cost control

With MUCHO Mobile Prepaid Packs, you can forget about invoices and bad surprises. By default, you don't have internet roaming, so you can come back from your holidays with the confidence that no unexpected additional charges will be added to your account. On the other hand, if you do want to surf while in Europe, you can activate a Roaming Pack for less than CHF 10 for 6 months! If you want to select a maximum amount to be spent per day while roaming, you'll be interested in our Roaming Airbag.

Always MUCHO easy!

There's many ways in which you can order your MUCHO SIM card totally for free. Choose your preferred method!

- Order it online and get it delivered to your door for free!

- Checkout on your desired pack, and receive it at home!

- Get it at one of the many newspapers kiosks, post offices, independent kiosks and money transfer agencies (such as Swisstransfer or MoneyExchange) that work with us!

And start calling and surfing at the best rates!

Our SIM cards work immediately after the registration data has been registered and verified by MUCHO's customer service.

Any MUCHO SIM card that has been inactive for more than 360 days (for instance, with no outgoing calls or surfing) will be automatically deactivated. In accordance with our general terms and conditions of sale, the mobile account number will be permanently lost and made available to new customers, any remaining credit will expire and no reimbursements will be offered.

You may still be using a phone with 2G technology. Starting in January 1st, 2021, the 2G antenna network is being gradually deactivated and 2G mobile phones will no longer function. Of course, your MUCHO SIM card will still work in 2021! Here are our tips to get through this telephone changeover!

The MUCHO SIM card you receive when setting up your account is not locked by a PIN code. Therefore, if you are experiencing issues to call, it could be for one of the following reasons:

In case of doubt, please call our customer service to verify whether you can recover the number of your SIM card. In case it can be recovered, the recovery and unlocking technical service may be charged to your account.

3) The PUK code can be found on the back of the card that contained your MUCHO SIM card.

You will also receive an SMS when you've used 90% of your calling minutes (only if you do not use an unlimited pack). In order to avoid consuming credit without your consent and protect it, MUCHO automatically stops your phone's Internet service once your data volume is used up, but you can continue calling and pay per minute. With MUCHO you always maintain control of your costs and the Internet does not consume your credit. It's up to you to decide what to do with the remaining credit: buy additional data or keep it for the next automatic pack renewal. You can add additional data at any time without waiting for the renewal of your pack, here's what to do. For additional help, please watch our video tutorial "Add more Internet to my current pack".

SEND AN SMS TO 778 WITH THE TEXT:

"PLUS1" TO ACTIVATE 1GB OF DATA 4G for CHF 5.- for 10 days.

"PLUS5" TO ACTIVATE 5GB OF DATA 4G for CHF 15.- for 10 days.

All of our prepaid calls and internet mobile plans (DUOPACK) include an automatic monthly renewal by default (AUTORENEW every 30 days) to make your life MUCHO easier!

Of course, you can cancel the automatic renewal of your packs if you wish:

1) Visit your myMUCHO account and access the "PACKS" section

2) Check your active pack at the bottom of the page

3) Click on the basket you'll see at the right side of your pack's name

4) You've successfully deactivated the automatic renewal of your plan

5) Don't forget to access your myMUCHO account again to activate the automatic renewal of your pack.

If you need more help, watch our video tutorial 'Cockpit: stop renewing my pack'.

If you wish to check your call and/or SMS history or expense, you can do so through your myMUCHO account:

1) Access your account

2) On the upper left area, you can see you call history, SMS history, and data consumption history

3) Feel free to filter the data by period (up to 90 days max.), type of service (calls, SMS, data) or usage within or outside of a pack The top panel shows your usage by day and type (calls, SMS, internet), while the bottom panel shows details of your latest communications. For more information, watch our video tutorial "Cockpit: view my personal use".

If you use an auto-renew pack, you cannot activate 2 packs simultaneously. You just can activate a Plus pack at any time. Send an SMS to number 778 with the following text:

- PLUS1 (1GB, CHF 5.- for 10 days) or

- PLUS5 (5GB, CHF 15.- for 10 days)

This is how our pack auto-payment method works:

1) When you buy your MUCHO SIM card online, you register a payment card for the automatic renewal of your plan

2) Make sure the automatic renewal is not deactivated through your myMUCHO account and that your credit card appears as "IN USE"

3) Your balance will be automatically topped up on the agreed date and time

- For instance, if the renewal of your DUOMINI pack is due at 11 am on 02.05.2021, your account's balance will be increased by CHF 17.90 around an hour earlier so that when the renewal is due at 11am, your account has enough credit to guarantee it. By 11am, your plan will be renewed and active, and your account's credit will be back to what it originally was (so in this case, minus the cost of the plan, which is CHF17.90).

4) Your plan has been correctly renewed and will be each month, MUCHO easy!

If you wish to deactivate the automatic renewal of your pack, these are the steps you'll need to follow:

1) Access your myMUCHO account

2) In the packs menu, find your active pack and click on the trash bin on the right side of the pack name. This will remove the next automatic renewal.

3) Once you've done this, when your current active pack expires you will move to a per-minute call billing plan and lose access to internet. To get internet access and a call pack again, go to the MUCHO Mobile prepaid pack section and checkout on the pack of your choice.

Your first monthly bill will then be prorated based on the date your SIM card is activated. This means that the first bill of your subscription will be adjusted and invoiced only from the moment your SIM card is activated. If you wish to join MUCHO and keep your phone number, MUCHO Mobile will take care of cancelling your old subscription. All you have to do is select "keep my number". You will then only have to indicate your desired portability date (generally the end date of your contract). MUCHO will then make the request to the former subscriber by indicating this date. Once the portability is accepted by your former operator, you will receive an SMS and an email of confirmation as well as the effective date of your portability. This method allows you to avoid any break between two subscriptions.

You have already ordered your MUCHO subscription? You can make your portability request at any time by filling out our portability form and returning it to us by email at contact@muchomobile.ch.

The protection of the quality of the services made available to the MUCHO community is a mission that is close to our heart. Extreme uses, such as professional uses (e.g. mass telephone calls) or uses as a replacement for fixed Internet connections (e.g. installation of SIMs in routers), jeopardize the quality of our services and are subject to special attention. Extreme uses are prohibited and may result in throughput limitations, immediate termination of promotional prices, or contract terminations for violators, in accordance with the general terms of sale in force.

For more information on our policy of reducing flow rates in the face of extreme use, we invite you to consult our general terms and conditions of sale.

Furthermore, we do not offer consolidation of billing for multiple mobile lines on a single bill. Each subscription has its own invoice. The only payment method accepted is credit card.
